TB391 “PENINSULAR FORAGING”
This figure tells its own story . Napoleonic soldiers of all armies had to forage to survive. Wellington ’s Army was no exception.
The Sergeant is bringing winter cheer, between hard campaigning.

TB392 “GOOD OLD ARGYLL’S”
Between 8am and 9am on the morning of May 10th 1915, during the second battle of Ypres ,a trench south of the Menin Road
manned by the 2nd  Cameron Highlanders was about to be overrun by the enemy. The 9th Argyll’s were ordered to support them.
Major James Christie led A and B Coy’s through horrific shell and machine gun fire to aid the Cameron’s.The advance lay over a
bare slope without cover ,men fell fast but the Argyll’s never wavered . The trenches were reinforced.
TB392 consists of six Highlanders and their Officer, Major Christie.AQM have tried to portray the carnage of the time and record
the debt we owe to those who gave their lives and to the many brave men who fought in the conflict. Bases lock to form a vignette.

TB393 PENINSULAR INCIDENT
The Colours were symbolic of the Battalions honour and its devotion to the Sovereign, reinforced by the religious consecration of
each new pair. They were the focal point of the Battalion and a rallying point in Battle . The greatest disgrace to befall a unit was the
loss of a Colour and thus the most desperate struggles raged around them:it might have been Corunna, Cadiz , Badajos, Salamanca ,
Burgos or Vittoria. It could be any British Regiment during the Napoleonic Wars.We just happen to have chosen the 4th (King’s Own
Royal Regt.) This time the enemy lost out.

TB395 “THE REARGUARD” 1812 THE GREAT RETREAT
The snow fell heavily, freezing damp clothes to marching bodies. An envelope of ice siezes and stiffens their limbs.A sharp violent wind
grabs their breath, forming icicles on beards and mouths, muskets slip from hands, some trip and fall. Soon snow covers them.
Under cover of darkness Ney’s reaguard stand firm, warding off repeated Cossack attack. Meanwhile the remnant of the Grand Armee
limp slowly and painfully away.....
Consisting of fourteen animated figures including Marshal Ney inspired by Adolphe Yvon’s painting. Complete with scenic features and
our own interlocking bases. A definite must for any Napoleonic buff.

TB396 ‘ RUNNING UP THE COLOUR’ - BADAJOZ 1812
The45th Nottinghamshire Regiment claim to be the first to enter the French held fortress.Lieutenant Macpherson was one the first attackers over the wall and succeeded in pulling down the French Tricolour. Not having a Union Flag to hoist in its place, the Officer took off his
red coatee and ran that up instead. This feat is commemorated on the 6th of April each year when red jackets are flown on Regimental
flag staffs and at Nottingham Castle .
TB396 is a spirited vignette with Lt.Macpherson in shirtsleeves a sergeant and a wounded private of the 45th ‘Cheering the Colour.’
Complete with flag pole and coatee and with interlocking flag stone base.

TB397 THE STORMING OF BADAJOZ - 1812

did so..... Our diorama shows the 45th at the height of the action.........scaling ladders and boarding parties, Cpl. Kelly having despatched
one unluckey Frenchman is about to confront his Colonel. This is a large piece approx. 18x18” by18” high. Considerable study, work
on the masters ensures clarity of detail and animation......... It is possibly the largest limited edition individual piece AQM produces.
Painted to connoisseur standard the figures are accurate in detail to the Peninsular campaign.
REAR ACTION........ ‘RIFLES FIRST’.   Five Riflemen and their Officer....faintly familier, somehow have found another breach in the
defences.Six Frenchmen are aware of this intrusion .......... some to their cost!

A lighthearted interlude between hostilities.Troops of all Armies from time to time, found themselves in need of sustainance. Our two
soldiers are typical of an ongoing need. It’s almost Christmas.......positive action is required! The victim, however is not prepared to
co-operate.

Painted to connoisseur standard as all vignettes.

TB400 ‘GORDON’S AND THE GREY’S’
“It was squadrons at the gallop (Gawd the ‘orses!) An’ the Gordons makin’ ‘ istry with the Greys, It was brimstone, ‘ail an’ fire..........”
Inspired by the painting in the Scottish United Services Museum , Edinburgh we decided to produce a series of vignettes, sculptured as
closely as possible to the original by Stanley Berkeley that could if required, end as a complete diorama.

PART 1 :- captures the action and heroic spirit of this famous charge at Waterloo . The centrepiece of the picture is a Scots Grey’s
Officer at full gallop with a Gordon hanging on to his stirrup leaping over a fallen Cuirassieur and his stricken horse.

PART 2 :- a dismounted Cuirassiur with his fallen horse; the Frenchman is firing his pistol, he is about to be sabred by a Scot’s
Grey’s Trooper.

PART 3 :- Sergeant Ewart, Scot’s Grey’s, with the captured Eagle of the French 45th Infantry.Ewart is exchanging blows with a
mounted Cuirassier attempting to recapture the Eagle; meanwhile a Gordon clutching his stirrup is reeling backwards having been shot
by the Cuirassier in PART 2.

PART 4: - Twelve Highlanders advancing, including Ensign with Regimental Colour and Two Colour Sergeants. All the bases fit together
and are designed to fit curves and to butt-up against Parts 1, 2, and 3.This completes the diorama.Parts 2 and 3 need  extra
interlocking pieces to join preceeding Parts together.
THIS SET IS THE ULTIMATE IN ACTION & IS FINISHED TO MUSEUM STANDARD.

TB409 QUATRE BRAS “ THE  BLACK  WATCH AT BAY ”
Inspired by the painting of  W. B. Wollen R. I. in the Black Watch Museum , Perth , Scotland , it depicts the 42nd Highland Regt.being
attacked by French Lancers of the Line. “On horses foam-flecked by the fury of their charge,Kellermann’s Cavalry circle a
Highland square, fighting desperately, standing in the Rye ”.
Utilising our unique interlocking system, the various parts provide an exciting vignette.
PART 1:- A Black Watch Officer and three standing Highlanders, one in defence and two firing
PART 2:- In the immediate foreground a fallen trumpeter of French Lancers - still holding his trumpet aloft, lies alongside his wounded
horse while a kneeling Highlander waits on guard.
PART 3:-An Officer of the 5th Regt.of French Lancers charges his mount full-tilt sending one Highlander reeling, whilst another lunges
with the bayonet. At their feet lies a fallen comrade..... his duty done.
PART 4:- A French Officer of Lancers stampedes his horse into the rear of the battered square, a Highlander is almost bowled over ....
......A Sergeant with Pike moves in defence!
PART 5 A French Lancer is reeling back in the saddle, having been shot by a Highlander in Part 1, meantime a
wounded 42nd Drummer wonders if he will miss being trampled underfoot by the lancers startled horse.
PART 6 More Highlanders in action, seven figures in all, Standing Ready, Kneeling, Reeling back and a crawling
Highlander bowled over by the horse in Part 3
PART 7 A French Lancer, lance lowered charges ‘ Hell for Leather ’ at the rapidly closing side of the square as the others stand firm.
A Highlander from Part 1 takes aim intent on stopping him. Another Highlander falls backwards from the impact
of the French Officer’s horse in  Part 4. A Highlander takes aim to bring him down, another desperately primes
the pan of his musket........ This is the final Part and completes the vignette....... unless you feel the need to add more!

 TB410 NAPOLEON’S SWISS TROOPS :- THE VALAIS BATTALION 1805-1813
The Valais Battalion  was raised in the service of France after Napoleon created the independant Canton of  Valais under the dominance
of France . The Canton ’s strategic importance was that it contained the Great St. Bernard and Simplon passes through the Alps - the key for
the French Army to manouvre in Northern Italy. In 1805 Napoleon requested the Republic of  Valais to provide him a Battalion of  Infantry, comprising of Staff,Grenadier Coy, and four Fusilier Coy’s.
The Battalion’s uniform was essentially, that of the Regulation French Line Infantry, but differed in colouring, being tradionally red of the
Swiss Troops in French Service. The red coat had white facings, collar, cuffs and turnbacks. The breeches and overalls were white with dark
grey gaiters and blue greatcoats, all other equipment as the regular French Line Regiments.

TB411 NAPOLEON’S SWISS TROOPS
The French Army  of the Napoleonic period had many ‘Regiments Etrangeres’serving with them. They were an integral part of the National Army, not Allied Forces. The standard of many, left much to be desired, but amongst them the Swiss troops were of outstanding quality.   In 1803 an agreement was signed that Switzerland would furnish France with four Infantry Regiments and in addition agreed not to provide troops for any other State.
The four Regiment’s served with distinction from 1806 until Napoleon’s final abdication in 1815. Napoleon regarded them very highly
indeed. As the ravages of  the Peninsular war depleted their number replacements were slow to be found. It was suggested, that men of other nationalities should be recruited for the Swiss Regts. Napoleon would have none of it, he insisted that only Swiss Nationals  should  be allowed to join to join these Regiment’s.
After service in Spain the Swiss accompanied the Grand Armee in the dreadfull Russian Campaign of 1812.They then fought throughout 1813 and 1814 .In 1815 most of the Swiss remained loyal to the King whose service they had entered, but a contingent of veterans,700 strong served L’Empereur with distinction at Waterloo .
The Swiss were equipped and uniformed identical to their French counterparts. However the coat colour being red was entirely different.
The 1st Regt. had Yellow facings, 2nd  Dark Blue, 3rd Black, 4th Light Blue.Facing Colours were worn on  the collar (except for Voltigeurs who had buff Yellow),lapels and cuffs.Piping colours  were Light Blue for 1st. Yellow for 2nd. White for 3rd. Black for 4th. Swiss Grenadier Coy’s. had white epaulettes instead of red - which would not have shown up distinctly on red jackets.

TB413 FANFARE PRINCIPALE de L’ARME BLINDEE CAVALERIE
Recently produced for the French Ecole de Cavalerie, Saumur,  the Kettledrums and  Fanfare trumpeters with the help and guidance of the Commandant. The Band is fully mounted and with the exception of the Kepi wears the uniform of 1882.
The uniform is Dark Navy tunic, Red riding breeches, Pale Blue Kepi, the set is resplendent and very French.
In the words of the Commandant....... “ This mounted Band sure does have “chic”. I especially admire the rendition of the attitude of
the Bandsmen. Our Bandmaster who was the first to see your work, told me that he’d wish his men to be all the time as dashing as the model soldiers.I am amazed at the accuracy of this new set. The
instruments (above all the Helicons), the trumpet banners, the tack of the horses, the tricolour cords are just stunning. Congratulations for a remarkable job”.
The reins, trumpet banners, and cords are all separately and painstakingly applied and not just moulded. Many hours have gone into the production and we are proud to offer this set which should prove an asset to any toy or model soldier collection.

TB419 ‘PENINSULAR MARCHING ORDER’   WELLINGTON ’S FOOT ARTILLERY
The Foot Artillery of this period consisted of ten numbered Battalions each of ten companies.
The company had two Captains, two first Lieutenants, two second Lieutenants,
four Sergeants, four Corporals, nine Bombadiers and one hundred and sixteen Gunners. This unit consisting of men and their personel equipment was attached at need to a Field Battery a term referring to the six guns and their supporting equipment. The horses usually four to a gun were the responsibility of the Corps of Royal Artillery Drivers, a separate organization. ‘Gunners of Foot Artillery were generally fine big men, with morale and discipline markedly higher than in some infantry units.
TB419 is provided with it’s own hand painted terrain measuring 10’’wide x 24’’ and consists of a four horse six pounder cannon and limber with it’s two Drivers. Followed by a Lieutenant, Sergeant, five Gunners of Foot Artillery and a mounted Captain of Battery . Meanwhile a missing member of the team is risking ‘a flogging’ if caught with his ‘plunder.’
This terrain is also suitable for dioramas utilising figures from our range, quotations  by request.

TB420 FRENCH HUSSARS ELITE COMPANY
Napoleons Hussars were probably the most colourful and flamboyant of all the French cavalry. They made first real impact in 1806 with the astonishing pursuit of the Prussians over 1,160 kms. From the river Saale to the Oder in twenty five days. After which five hundred men of the combined 5th and 7th bluffed a six thousand strong Prussian Garrison into capitulating its fortress at Stettin along with one hundred and sixty cannon.

Confined for the most part to scouring the countryside in the vicinity of the main columns, the Hussar Regiments would deploy their squadrons in battle order and sweep the surrounding landscape. Upon contact with the enemy, a troop of the leading squadron would disperse at the gallop to form a screen of sharpshooters about the Regiments  front if engaged. The Hussar skirmishers would discharge their carbines less than a hundred meters from a stationary position their primary targets being enemy Officers. With pistol in the right hand and drawn sabre hanging from the swordknot on the wrist, thy would charge home, reserving the pistol ball for the last moment, then passing the hand gun to the left hand and setting to with cold steel.

These new figures are offered with drawn and slashing sabres, wearing the elite Bearskin Colpak with slung Pelisse.

Regiments as listed are all available……….

TB421 ARMY OF THE ELECTORATE OF HANOVER WATERLOO 1815.  FELD BATAILLON VERDEN
Hanover occupied a unique position among the German states by virtue of the accession of the Elector of Hanover to the throne of Great Britain in 1714. Despite a close connection, the states were united but remained separate entities. Hanoverians fought along side the British in many campaigns of the mid 18th century. After the peace of Amiens , Hanover was occupied by France and then in 1806 incorporated in the new kingdom of Westphalia . After the war of liberation Hanover was once again a free state and formed a new army, which assisted in Napoleon’s final overthrow.
In 1813 new regular units styled ‘ Field Battalions ’ were raised, of which Breman, Verden, York, Luneburg, Grubenhagen, Lauenburg, Calenburg and Hoya were present at Waterloo.
The majority of Field Battalions wore British uniform of red jacket with various coloured facings, the Belgic shako and used British equipment. Feld Bataillon Verden was origionaly raised as Feld Bataillon Bennigsen and was renamed Verden in 1813. They wore red jackets with green facings and a white Belgic shako, originally meant to be issued for service in India . Like their brothers in the Kings German Legion they acquitted them selves well at Waterloo .
